AMP Concerts and Revolutions partners every year to host free daytime Tuesday performances for the community. Please visit AMP Concerts website for more information.
The multi-award winning Ndere Troupe has been gracing stages for almost 35 years with high quality performances that have resulted in worldwide appreciation and fame. The Ndere Troupe performs a repertoire of more than 40 authentic Ugandan dances and songs accompanied by various indigenous percussive, stringed and wind instruments. The Troupe also engages in various projects aimed at keeping African generations educated about traditional entertainment and also uses traditional entertainment to spread knowledge about current issues such as modern farming techniques and HIV/AIDS. This library performance will be a selection of dances, songs, and stories in order to share the work they do with the Albuquerque community.
We are pleased to host Ndere Troupe as part of AMP’s integrated series at N4th Theatre, where AMP bring musicians to perform for the artists with developmental disabilities at N4th and invite the community to come join the fun and see the great work they do there. Community spots are limited to 60 people and reservations are required. Register here:

She’s been featured in BBC, Vice, OkayAfrica, Star Tribune, and City Pages. Her critically acclaimed, “How to Have Fun in a Civil War” premiered at Guthrie Theatre and toured to greater cities in Minnesota. Her first national museum exhibition; “Can I touch it” premiered at Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Her visual poem, “I am a Refugee” is part of PBS’s short Film festival. Kardemimmit is a band of four awesome women playing the Finnish national instrument, kantele. The band members are Maija Pokela, Jutta Rahmel, Anna Wegelius and Leeni Wegelius. Kardemimmit is in charge of their own music—they compose, as well as arrange, write lyrics and produce. Alongside 15- and 38-stringed kanteles, singing has a big part in Kardemimmit’s musical universe, where original pieces with a modern approach still have a strong foundation in Finnish, Eastern European and Scandinavian traditions. The Finnish reki-singing style, 19th century dancing music and Perhonjokilaakso kantele playing style, Eastern Finnish archaic improvisation and ancient runo singing are all present in Kardemimmit’s music.
