Catgut Strung Violin
Catgut Strung Violin returns to Albuquerque after an incredibly successful tour of Canadian Fringe Festivals. Catgut grabbed the attention of audiences and critics alike, playing to sold-out houses and gaining critical acclaim in every city. The Ottawa Citizen calls Catgut a “highlight from the get-go,” a “masterful dark comedy,” and “ironically balletic.” Catgut Strung Violin combines the elements of clown, physical comedy, and Tricklock’s unique brand of humor to create a surreal wartime story of a young un-likely hero, Anton, and his violin. Armed with grenades, a helmet and slapstick-inducing naiveté, Anton and his only friend Miller navigate the foxholes and trenches of the battlefield. This sidesplitting story is a hilarious ambush on what we’ve come to expect from camaraderie and combat. If you missed the Albuquerque premiere, now is your chance to join Tricklock Company as they delve into America’s favorite pastime. Catgut Strung Violin is sure to remind you of why the Weekly Alibi says, “No one is pushing the theatrical envelope with greater panache and bravery than Tricklock Company.” Winner, OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL WORK, Ottawa Fringe Festival CRITICS PICK, Ottawa Citizen Created by Tricklock Company members Kevin R.
