Washing over you like a half-remembered dream, ONE is a spellbinding journey of love and loss from emerging Canadian theater-creator, Jason Carnew. Free-associating from Orpheus fable, ONE follows Philistine, a bibliophile librarian, as she submits herself to the dusty vault of the underworld – where the world’s memories are banked, on old vinyl – in search of her lover George, a budding astronomer who dreams of one day joining the constellations. In the realm of the DJ-archivist (the snarling and jaded overseer of the underworld) Philistine journeys further and further away from her life; and as she tumbles deeper into the rabbit-hole, the world as she knows it begins to distill into a series of breathtaking imagistic experiences. Both haunting and lovely, ONE is visually and sonically stunning story you won’t soon forget.

Redtoblue Performance is an Alberta-based multi-disciplinary production company focused on creating new, highly visual work using all mediums of performance. Drawing from a wide range of artists, Redtoblue creates work in theatre, dance, sound and film while also working to encourage the development of new work through classes and workshops. The company’s theatrical style is characterized by a total encompassing of the audience with each element of the performance. It entails absolute knowledge and command of all the elements of creation: movement, space, costume, lighting, sound and direction. The result is the creation of an entire world in which the audience can disappear.
